Ubuntu 10 64 bits boot CD asking for Username and Password

At first the boot CD was not asking any credentials, now it does and I have tried everything in vain (my HD installation username, administrator, ubuntu, various passwords and blanck passwords, blank username...).

I see that this is a very common issue, in the above post they say it's some hardware device problem (????). Anyway luckily I have also a 32 bits CD and I am using it to do the partition resizing I needed.
